New Yorkers React to the Death of Osama bin Laden

New Yorkers poured onto the streets near Ground Zero and Times Square last night after President Barack Obama announced the news Americans have waited nearly a decade to hear: Osama bin Laden, mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks, is dead. Police presence in Lower Manhattan was heavy as a mild celebration turned into a mass street party, where people were seen drinking on the street and climbing traffic lights to spur on the crowd’s energy.
