Many commentators believe that both Al Jazeera Arabic and Al Jazeera English played key roles in advancing the recent uprisings in the Arab world. Some claim that in addition to social media, the reporting of Al Jazeera, which is owned by Emir of Qatar, aided the revolutions. We spoke to Alessandro Rampietti, a senior producer at its New York bureau, about what role he thinks Al Jazeera has played in the uprisings.
